Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell was involved in a car crash with a police vehicle before their play-off win against Norwich.
The 21-year-old was unharmed in the collision that took place close to the West Stand entry gate at Elland Road and was named in the squad for Thursday night’s match.
West Yorkshire police have confirmed that an officer was treated for minor injuries after emergency services attended the scene.
“At 10.13 am [on Thursday], police were notified of a collision involving a police car and a Land Rover Defender on Elland Road, Leeds,” said a spokesperson amid ongoing inquiries.
“An officer received medical treatment for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Cresswell still featured as an unused substitute during their 4-0 Championship play-off semi-final win.
The first leg against Norwich on Sunday ended in a 0-0 draw but Daniel Farke’s side returned to their home ground in fine fashion.
Leeds took the lead after just seven minutes when Ilia Gruev’s free-kick caught Canaries goalkeeper Angus Gunn off guard.
Joel Piroe scored their second midway through the first half before Illan Meslier denied Josh Sargent for an instant Norwich response.
The visitors were made to pay five minutes from halftime when Georginio Rutter emphatically scored Leeds’ third to put them in full control.
Crysencio Summerville completed the scoring on 68 minutes to seal a resounding win for Farke’s side in front of a noisy home crowd.
Leeds have sealed their spot in the Championship play-off final on Sunday where they will face either Southampton or West Brom, with their semi-final second legĀ live on talkSPORTĀ on Friday night.
Victory at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 26 would see them secure an instant return to the Premier League following last season’s relegation.
Leeds finished third in the Championship table but could be set to join Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the top-flight.
