Journalist reveals how much Spurs are paying Bournemouth for Solanke

Reports linking Dominic Solanke with a move to Tottenham Hotspur have intensified, with several reputable sources now claiming that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

Among those reporting this are Duncan Castles of The Transfer Podcast and David Ornstein of The Athletic, both of whom state that Bournemouth has agreed to a club-record sale of the striker to Spurs.

However, talkSPORT’s Alex Crook offers a different perspective, suggesting that while Tottenham is in advanced negotiations to sign the former Liverpool forward, a full agreement has yet to be finalized. Despite Solanke’s release clause being set at £65 million, Tottenham has reportedly negotiated a £5 million discount, bringing the total transfer fee to £60 million, according to Gary Jacob. Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe added via Twitter that Tottenham will pay £57 million for the transfer, with an additional £3 million in potential add-ons.

Tottenham has also agreed to pay £30 million of the fee upfront, which likely convinced Bournemouth to accept a reduced amount from Solanke’s release clause.

O’Keefe tweeted: “Tottenham has agreed to pay Bournemouth £57m for Dominic Solanke with £30m up-front. Some minor add-ons on top of that figure of approximately £3m. Working to complete the deal for a striker who desperately wants to come.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

£60 million is a hefty sum for Dominic Solanke, but the key takeaway is that Ange Postecoglou is getting the player he believes is essential for his Tottenham rebuild. In time, this deal could prove to be a bargain.
