“Much neater than my room and my wife’s” – Novak Djokovic offers hilarious glimpse of last-minute packing in his children’s room ahead of US Open 2024

Fresh off his victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Novak Djokovic gave fans a lighthearted glimpse into his last-minute preparations for the US Open, sharing his packing routine on social media. The Serbian tennis star, who will be aiming for his fifth US Open title after previous wins in 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2023, recently secured the gold medal in men’s singles at the Paris Olympics by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets, 7-6(3), 7-6(2). With this victory, Djokovic also achieved the career Golden Slam, having won all the Grand Slam titles at least once, along with an Olympic gold medal.

As Djokovic wrapped up his Paris Olympics campaign, he was seen organizing his belongings to head to New York, where the US Open will take place from August 26 to September 8, 2024. In a TikTok video shared by a fan page on Instagram, the Olympic champion humorously admitted to his habit of overpacking. “I’m one of those people who always takes more than he needs,” Djokovic joked. “I don’t seem very excited right now because it’s 11 pm, and of course, the night before the morning of departure, I still haven’t finished packing. I live out of suitcases, I live out of bags. This is my life. It’s a sad story, not about the playing, but I’m just stating the obvious.”

The 37-year-old chose to pack in his children’s room, explaining that it was much tidier compared to his and his wife’s room, which was cluttered with numerous bags. “I’m actually packing right now in the children’s room because it’s much neater and cleaner than my room and my wife’s room at the moment,” Djokovic added. “There are way too many bags, and I didn’t want it to look that bad. Here, at least, it’s quite easy. So, yeah, see you in New York.”
