Rammstein Addresses Sexual Misconduct and Plagiarism Allegations

Rammstein appears to be sticking around for now. The iconic German metal band has released a statement addressing their current status and responding to the sexual misconduct allegations against lead vocalist Till Lindemann in 2023, as well as plagiarism accusations against the band.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our fans, friends, and concertgoers,” the band shared, as reported by Metal Injection. “Thank you for your support, your warmth, and your encouragement throughout this 2024 tour. We felt your energy at every show, and it truly carried us through a wave of emotions. It was an honor to perform for you and to share these joyous moments together. Because of you, we have rediscovered our love for music and performing on stage. Every concert was a healing experience for us, and we are deeply thankful.”

Regarding the allegations, Rammstein added, “Since last summer, we have been actively addressing the accusations made against the band. We take these matters seriously, even though many of the claims are baseless and grossly exaggerated. This is an ongoing internal process that will stay with us for a long time. Each of us is handling it in our own way. At this time, we want to especially thank our families and loved ones for their unwavering support and love; they too were deeply affected by the allegations and the media coverage.”

The band also extended their thanks to their crew, management, and all who supported them: “This massive stadium tour, with its incredible show and extraordinary stage, has now concluded after 135 concerts over 5 years, reaching 6 million fans. This is not the end of Rammstein. The journey continues. Farewell, goodbye, GOODBYE!!”

As previously reported, Lindemann faced accusations of sexual misconduct last year, leading to an investigation. However, the investigation was eventually dropped, with Lindemann’s lawyers stating that the Berlin state prosecutor’s office found “insufficient evidence” to support the allegations, according to Metal Injection.

Earlier this year, Rammstein faced further challenges when French synthwave band Ninja Cyborg accused them of stealing their 2018 song “The Sunny Road” for Rammstein’s 2019 track “Deutschland.” The situation remains unresolved.
