‘Isn’t too bad’: Tottenham attacker who impressed in pre-season set to miss two weeks with injury

It wouldn’t be a typical season for Tottenham fans without some injury concerns, and it seems like we’re already off to a start for the 2024/25 campaign.

In recent seasons, Spurs supporters have watched as injuries to key players like Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison have derailed their hopes.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has been working hard to prevent a repeat of those issues this season, bolstering the squad with new additions.

Part of this strategy includes integrating young talent. Several youngsters have caught the eye, with Lucas Bergvall shining in pre-season, and forwards Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear also making strong impressions.

Unfortunately, Lankshear has suffered an injury, leaving Spurs fans concerned.

Thankfully, Alasdair Gold has provided a reassuring update. Addressing Lankshear’s hamstring issue on social media, Gold indicated that the situation isn’t too serious. How this will affect Lankshear’s immediate future remains uncertain.

Lankshear is expected to play a role this season, as Spurs have decided not to send him out on loan. His performances in pre-season have impressed Postecoglou, with the manager praising the former Sheffield United player for his ‘bright’ displays in training.

We’ve seen many players struggle with muscle injuries over the years, and hamstring problems can be particularly challenging. Michael Owen’s career was notably impacted by a hamstring tear at a young age, from which he never fully recovered.

Hopefully, for Lankshear, this is just a minor strain, and he’ll be back to full fitness soon.

This season feels crucial for both Lankshear and Mikey Moore. If they can make meaningful contributions, it could set the stage for a breakthrough next year.
