Till Lindemann, the lead singer of the German industrial metal band Rammstein, is currently suing the prominent German news outlet Der Spiegel. The lawsuit alleges that Der Spiegel used falsified documents in an attempt to commit trial fraud (via Consequence).
Last year, several female fans of Rammstein accused Lindemann of sexual misconduct, claiming he exploited women in the band’s fan club and during backstage VIP experiences. Both the band and Lindemann denied these allegations. A police investigation was launched in June 2023 but was closed by August of the same year. Despite this, the controversy has continued to follow the band throughout their stadium tour.
As a result, Lindemann’s lawyer has filed a lawsuit against Der Spiegel for its coverage of the allegations. Lindemann claims that the news outlet used falsified documents in its articles and podcasts, with the intent of committing trial fraud. This isn’t the first time Lindemann’s legal team has taken on a media outlet; in 2023, they won a case against the U.K. news outlet The Mirror regarding an article about the allegations.
Despite these legal battles, Lindemann remains focused on his music career and is gearing up for his first solo tour, which begins this September.
