Four more Texas Longhorns declare for the NFL Draft

The list of Longhorns heading to the NFL is growing. Over the weekend, Texas LT Kelvin Banks, Jr. and RB Jaydon Blue announced their intentions to enter the NFL Draft. Now four players have joined them.

Texas safety Andrew Mukuba announced he’s leaving the UT program Monday on social media. In his statement, Mukuba thanked the Longhorns fans, “To the Texas fans, it has been an honor of a lifetime to come home to my city and play here. Thank you for welcoming back home and allowing me to wear the burnt orange. Hook’em always!” Mukuba had 69 tackles this season and five interceptions.

The Horns will also lose Matthew Golden. The junior was Texas’ leading wide receiver in 2024 with 987 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. He finished with 54 catches and averaged 17 yards per catch.

Texas is also losing offensive lineman Hayden Conner. Connor said on social media, “I am officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. These past four years have been the best of my life…. a lot of good and bad has happened, but through all that has happened in this city, it has shaped me into the man I am now.”

Finally, senior center Jake Majors has declared for the NFL Draft. “When I first committed to Texas, I said this a good bit, and I’ll say it again, my commitment wasn’t just for my personal well-being,” Majors said. “It was to bring Texas back to where it belonged in the early 2000s.” Majors’ 56 starts established a new UT record.
