While the Texas Longhorns have lost a lot of talent to the NFL Draft over the last few days, they got good news on the offensive line front on Wednesday. Talented junior DJ Campbell announced that he will be back next season to help protect Arch Manning. The Longhorns have multiple holes to fill but will be able to rely on Campbell as they look to end their title drought.

Since making his college debut, Campbell has become one of the Longhorns’ best players. After appearing in seven games as a freshman, he has started every game over the last two seasons. Most of his playing time has come at right guard, which should continue in 2025.

In his fourth year with Texas, Campbell is expected to take on a leadership role. He is the only starter returning on the offensive line after tackles Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams, center Jake Majors, and guard Hayden Connor all decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Although the Longhorns lineup will look very different, Campbell will be surrounded by plenty of talent. That list includes Cole Hutson, who rotated with Campbell at times during the 2024 campaign, and Trevor Goosby, who is projected to start at left tackle next season. With that trio leading the way, Texas should be in good hands.

If Campbell can continue to improve his play, he might be in the position to make the jump to the NFL this time next year.
