Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will face No. 13 Ole Miss in a Week 5 SEC clash at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams come into the game undefeated after strong performances through the first four weeks of the season.
Fourth-ranked LSU secured wins over Clemson, Louisiana Tech, Florida, and Southeastern Louisiana, but now face a tougher test in the Rebels.
Known for their explosive offense under Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss will challenge a revamped LSU defense in what promises to be a high-level matchup.
“We’re very familiar with each other—it’s our fourth time meeting,” Kelly said of Kiffin on Monday. “There aren’t any surprises anymore.”
“At the end of the day, it comes down to which team executes best and handles the small details — that’s what makes the difference. Ole Miss has a great offense, no doubt.
“But the familiarity between the teams is key. They know each other so well that both sides are prepared to adjust effectively on offense and defense.”
In LSU’s cornerback group, they’ve used a three-man rotation featuring Mansoor Delane, PJ Woodland, and five-star freshman DJ Pickett.
Delane ranks among the nation’s top defensive backs, while Pickett has quickly become one of the most impressive freshmen in college football.
