O lovitură grea pentru FCSB: „situația nu mai este incertă

FCSB has recorded four wins, two draws, and two defeats in the first eight matches of the second half of the season, with the main objective this year being qualification for European competitions.

The reigning champions only have one path to Europe, after failing to reach the play-offs at the end of the regular season and now competing in the play-out phase of the Romanian SuperLiga.

To reach European football, the team must finish in the top two of the play-out, win the first play-off against the other top side, and then secure victory in the final decisive match against a team from the play-off group.

FCSB will be without striker Daniel Bîrligea in the play-offs due to injury. The forward has been sidelined for an extended period, with his last appearance coming in a friendly match for the Romanian national team against Slovakia.

Mihai Stoica, president of the club’s Board of Directors, confirmed that Bîrligea will not recover in time:

“The situation is clear now. Bîrligea will not be available for the double we are hoping for. He cannot play under any circumstances and will not be fit by May 29. He is out,” Stoica said, according to fanatik.

Bîrligea, valued at around €4.5 million, joined FCSB in 2024 from CFR Cluj for €3 million. Since arriving, he has played 72 matches in all competitions, scoring 30 goals and providing 8 assists.
