Mark Knopfler’s Guitar Heroes are locked in an extremely close chart battle with pop megastar Beyoncé for the UK’s Number 1 single this week.
At the midweek stage, the star-studded charity remake of Mark Knopfler’s 1983 song ‘Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)’ is at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.
According to Official Charts Company figures, ‘Going Home’ is leading Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ by less than 1,000 chart units, and it will need to keep up the momentum to secure the top spot on Friday.
Beyoncé’s country song ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ has already been at the chart summit for four weeks, and it’s likely to challenge ‘Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)’ thanks to continued high streaming figures.
