Ally McCoist admits watching 26-year-old Tottenham player is getting ‘very frustrating’

Pundit Ally McCoist has admitted watching Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison after Fulham was getting very frustrating.

McCoist was commentating on the match for TalkSPORT (23/10 8:31pm) and witnessed another victory for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Son Heung-min and James Maddison’s goals decided the tie but they could have scored more goals.

Fulham made two sloppy passes out from the back and Spurs ultimately capitalised on those errors to earn all three points.

Tottenham are playing with immense confidence right now which is in complete contrast to last season’s performances.

James Maddison ran the show and might be disappointed he didn’t record an assist last night.

However, one player who would have hoped to use yesterday’s match to add to his goal tally was Richarlison.

The 26-year-old missed two huge chances in the opening minutes against Luton before the international break and was substituted at half-time.

Richarlison had his opportunities against Fulham too and McCoist admitted he’s finding it difficult to watch the Tottenham man.

The Brazilian was replaced in the closing stages by Brennan Johnson and he might fancy his chances of taking his place in the side when he returns to full fitness.

McCoist frustrated with Richarlison in Tottenham’s win over Fulham

Speaking about the forward, McCoist said: “I just think he can be a very frustrating player, I really do.

“As you say there’s nobody doubting there’s a player in there with extreme talent.

“I just don’t think we see it enough.”

One pundit has suggested that Postecoglou doesn’t really fancy Richarlison but he kept his faith in the 26-year-old last night.
