Angry Tottenham fan burns Mauricio Pochettino book as ‘turncoat’ manager joins Chelsea

One irate Tottenham Hotspur fan has burned Mauricio Pochettino’s autobiography on his barbecue after the Argentine was announced as Chelsea’s new boss on Monday

Tottenham fans have branded Mauricio Pochettino as a “turncoat” after he was announced as the new Chelsea manager on Monday.

Pochettino led Spurs to a Champions League final in 2019 – but he was sacked mere months later. And the Argentine has now rocked back up in London, but this time at Spurs’ bitter rivals Chelsea.

The Blues have been looking for a new manager since the start of April, when they dismissed Graham Potter after a poor season. Frank Lampard was brought in to steady the ship, but Chelsea have only managed a bottom-half finish.

One fan, who was burning a book of Poch’s autobiography, tweeted: “How’s this for a barbecue you f***ing turncoat?”

“Just like that Poch completely destroys his Tottenham legacy. Hope it was worth it fella,” a second added. While a third tweeted: “The season is finally over. We are free of the endless pain and suffering. We did it. How could Tottenham Hotspur possibly ruin this fine bank holiday…”

“No one contact me for 3-5 business days, I am not okay,” a fourth added. And another said: “Hope he loses every game and is jobless by Christmas.”
