Fabrizio Romano has shared that Alexis Mac Allister has ‘completed’ his medical ahead of being unveiled as a Liverpool player.

The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder has signed a contract with Liverpool until June 2028 and he becomes Jurgen Klopp’s first signing of the 2023 summer transfer window.

Alexis Mac Allister is ‘set to sign the contract today (Wednesday 7 June)’, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, as he posted on Twitter.

“Alexis Mac Allister has completed the medical tests as new Liverpool player,” wrote Romano “Set to sign the contract today. Long-term deal will be valid until June 2028.”

This transfer news breaking overnight will be music to Liverpool fans’ ears and possibly the start of even bigger things to come for the Merseyside club.

The 2023 summer transfer window will officially open in July and the Reds already have their first big-name midfielder through their doors.

It’s a far change from last summer when Jurgen Klopp made a U-turn during the final few weeks of the window and only ended up with the loan signing of Arthur Melo.

Mac Allister is a top purchase by Liverpool
A player that is riding a wave and playing the best football of his career, this is a serious purchase from Liverpool.

Whether it’s as a number six, number eight or even more attack-minded than that, the World Cup winner is the all-round midfielder that Klopp needs.

A player that is ‘incredibly intelligent’, he should be a sure starter as soon he walks through the doors at Anfield.
