Davinson Sanchez has told his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Erik Lamela on Instagram to ‘enjoy’ after he was part of the Sevilla side that beat AS Roma in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
The 31-year-old helped Sevilla add Europa League number seven to their cabinet, as they beat Jose Mourinho’s Roma on penalties in what was a very cagey and yellow-card crazy game of football in Budapest.
Erik Lamela helped change the game, after coming on as a second-half substitute for Tottenham loanee, Bryan Gil, with Sevilla levelling the scores in the 55th-minute after Paulo Dybala’s first-half opener.
Nonetheless, following Sevilla’s European triumph, Lamela posted a video on Instagram of his side’s fans celebrating after the game.
It has been two years since Spurs parted ways with the playmaker, but in the comments section of his IG post, his former teammate, Davinson Sanchez told him ‘enjoy it, brother’.
ANOTHER EX-TOTTENHAM PLAYER WINS A TROPHY
Well, months after Spurs sacked a trophy-laden coach in Antonio Conte and then proceeded to miss out on European football altogether, another one of their former players is adding a trophy to his name.
All in the back drop of Spurs being in a world of mess in north London, as Daniel Levy still searches for a new manager.
Tottenham fans must watch the likes of Lamela with envy because, whilst he was deemed not good enough for Spurs anymore two years ago, he is proving that he still has plenty of quality left in his tank.
The versaitle playmaker has blossmed since leaving the Premier League, and unlike his former club, he will now be playing Champions League football next season.
