Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian will stay for 2023/24 season

As the list of players leaving Liverpool appears to grow by the day, one player will be staying put this summer.

The club confirmed that Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, James Milner and Arthur Melo would all leave at the end of the season, leaving Jurgen Klopp with a number of gaping holes in midfield.

Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has emerged as the Reds’ priority target, after they withdrew from the race to sign Jude Bellingham.

However, before he enters the transfer market, Klopp has ensured back-up goalkeeper Adrian will remain at the club, with the Spaniard allegedly penning fresh terms to keep him at Anfield season.

Kelleher has been tipped to leave Liverpool this summer, with the Republic of Ireland international eager to play more regularly, claim The Athletic.

Jurgen Klopp is supposedly against selling the shot-stopper, insisting that it would take an “extraordinary” offer for Liverpool to let him leave this summer, with Kelleher under contract until June 2026.

“Honestly, I can’t see Caoimhin leaving,” the Reds boss told reporters this month. “It must be an extraordinary offer for me to start thinking, I have to say.”

However, by tying Adrian down to a new deal, Klopp could be preparing for the eventuality that Kelleher does leave Merseyside, with Tottenham emerging as potential suitors.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that one Liverpool player could move permanently this summer despite having four years on his contract remaining.

On Sunday, Liverpool concluded an underwhelming season with a topsy-turvy 4-4 draw with relegated Southampton.

Only a year ago the Reds fell just short of an unprecedented quadruple, and it looked like they would continue to dominate at the top of the European game for seasons to come. This time around, however, Jurgen Klopp’s men have ended the campaign trophyless and failed to qualify for next term’s Champions League.

In turn, the Anfield club have been tipped to undergo a major rebuild with the midfield particularly a position the club are looking to address.

Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Ryan Gravenberch and many others have all been linked to a Liverpool move this summer.

And to finance a summer splurge, there will be several outgoings too.

Carvalho to leave Liverpool permanently?
Romano claimed that Fabio Carvalho, who only moved to Liverpool from Fulham last summer, could leave on a permanent deal this coming window.

The transfer guru tweeted: “Understand there’s a permanent deal bid on Liverpool table from a club abroad for Fabio Carvalho.

“There are also many loan deal bids from PL clubs but Carvalho is not accepting as the project will be crucial for his decision.

“Klopp, aware of his intentions. Talks ongoing.”

The Portugal Under-21 international, who signed a five-year deal with Liverpool last summer, has made 22 appearances across all competitions in his first campaign on Merseyside – netting three times.

However, only eight of those outings came as part of Klopp’s starting lineup.

Liverpool spent a reported fee of £5million plus add-ons on Carvalho after the youngster’s impressive breakthrough at Fulham.

He notched 11 goals and eight assists across 38 appearances as the then-Championship side surged to promotion in the 2021-22 campaign.
