Fabrizio Romano has said that Newcastle United will do everything they can to keep hold of Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
There are several clubs looking the way of Newcastle‘s star man, Bruno Guimaraes but according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano they are very aware that they have very little chance of luring the Brazilian away from Tyneside.
However, just to make sure, Newcastle will offer Bruno a new deal to ensure he stays.
Liverpool and Barcelona are tracking Bruno Guimaraes
Speaking on his Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “Newcastle want to offer, very soon, they’re already preparing the proposal, a new deal to Bruno Guimaraes.
“They know that some big clubs are tracking the situation. Liverpool really like the player but they know it’s almost impossible to sign him this summer, same with Barcelona, so they appreciate the player. It’s going to be really complicated to sign Guimaraes this summer.
“This is why Newcastle want to offer him a new deal. The conversation will start soon. Newcastle will do their best to keep Bruno Guimaraes.”
I think most fans were already fairly confident of keeping the 25-year-old this summer, but this should alleviate any lingering fears.
Newcastle will look to build a team around Bruno next season
It can’t be overstated just how good Bruno Guimaraes is and how important he has been to Newcastle’s success. In one metric measured by The Athletic (via Reddit), only Manchester City‘s Rodri has been better this season at passes under pressure. He has ice in his veins reads the game so well, it’s like he is three steps ahead of his opponents.
Many fans can see that the best way to move forward is to build the team around Bruno as he is clearly the linchpin of the entire team, almost every play goes through him at some point.
Now we can breathe a sigh of relief that there appears to be no way that Bruno won’t be at Newcastle next season, we can focus on who is going to join him.
