‘He’s too good’: Thierry Henry stunned by what £45m star Tottenham sold did last night

Thierry Henry has been left stunned by Kyle Walker’s performance for Manchester City as the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man stopped Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night at the Etihad.

The legendary striker added that Kyle Walker is a ‘beast’ and when you are running up against him ‘you might as well stop’ because you aren’t going to win that battle, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (17/05/23 at 10:15 pm).

Previously, Henry has spoken about how Vinicius Jr is perhaps the best winger in the world, but last night, he was left motionless as Manchester City thrashed Real Madrid to reach the Champions League final by beating Carlo Ancelotti’s men 4-0 in the second-leg and 5-1 on aggregate.

Pep Guardiola’s side will now travel to Istanbul for Europe’s biggest game, as their chances of winning the treble are well and truly on, with only Inter Milan, and none other than, Manchester United standing in their way.

Only a number of months ago, Walker was being questioned by his manager and teenager Rico Lewis was being selected ahead of him.

But, fast forward to the present, and the 32-year-old is showing everyone who is boss with a stellar display, which Henry loved.

“Kyle Walker is a beast,” said Henry. “Whenever you have to run with him, then you might as well stop.

“At one point, he was way behind Vinicius Jr and he just caught him. Put his arm, took the ball and said ‘bye’, then went the other way. When it comes to that, he is too good.

“I have to say, he put Mbappe in his pocket at the quarter-final of the World Cup. He put a lot of players that are actually outstanding in his pocket. It’s not easy to beat him. You have to give him a lot of credit.”

CAN WALKER HELP MAN CITY WIN THE TREBLE?
Back in 2017, Man City paid Spurs £45 million (BBC Sport) for Walker’s services as he bid to win trophies in his career.

Well, fast forward to the present, and he is now only a few weeks away from winning a historic treble.

The Premier League title is in the bag, but beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan in the Champions League final, then history has been created
