Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to match Brighton & Hove Albion’s £70m asking price for Alexis Mac Allister despite personal terms being agreed with the midfielder.

£70m for Mac Allister might seem like an overvaluation based on the midfielder’s overall form for Brighton in the past few seasons. Yet if Liverpool are to bring the 24-year-old to Merseyside in a timely manner, they’ll have to cough up the money top sign the South American.
As we know, Liverpool are looking to sign more than one midfielder this summer, and whilst Mac Allister will likely be the Reds’ biggest acquisition in the window, £70m might look like a relative bargain if the Argentine hits the ground running at Anfield.
