Paulo Dybala posts wordless reaction on Instagram after Alexis Mac Allister signs for Liverpool

Argentine World Cup winner Paulo Dybala has applauded Liverpool for their signing of Alexis Mac Allister yesterday.

Mac Allister was finally announced as the Reds first summer signing of the year on Thursday. The news brought an explosion of joy from Liverpool fans, and applause from elsewhere at the cheap nature of the £35m deal.

Lending his voice that crowd, Dybala reacted to Liverpool’s Instagram post announcing their new man. With four clapping emojis in the comments, the Roma man was clearly delighted with the news from his international teammate.

And he wasn’t the only one of Argentina’s class of 2022 to greet the signing with glee. Reacting to Mac Allister’s Instagram post of his own, Tottenham defender Cristian Romero also sent a message of support.

“Let’s go, all the best Ale,” he wrote.

Alexis gets support from back home
Looking through the responses to Mac Allister’s post in particular, it’s clear just how much he’s appreciated by his teammates.

Another former colleague – Mauro Zarate – left an amusing message directed at Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“Tell Alexander-Arnold to run from the free kicks that in Boca you learned from the 1st! Break it down gaucho,” said the ex-West Ham United and Birmingham forward.

It’s been years since Mac Allister and Zarate played together at Boca, but the much younger man clearly left a big impression.

As for Dybala, he’s not quite the superstar he once was anymore. But he’s still a big name who has benefitted from our new No.10’s clever and self-less play during their time with the Albiceleste.

As Mac Allister gets ready to bed into the Liverpool squad, it’s already clear that he’s going to be a hit amongst his new teammates.

First though, the 24-year-old will jet off to meet Dybala, Romero and the rest, as Argentina play friendlies against Australia and Indonesia. After what must have been a whirlwind couple of days for him, he’ll no doubt be pleased to see some familiar faces.
