Rangers legend Graham Roberts has defended the call by Tottenham Hotspur to bring in Ange Postecoglou from Celtic.
One Tottenham fan stated that, if Ange Postecoglou is appointed, then he ‘won’t last until Jan 1st’, but that was quickly shut down by Roberts who responded by saying ‘you will be surprised about him’, as he posted on Twitter.
Those in Rangers colours wouldn’t have found it easy watching Ange work his magic in Parkhead in recent years, including winning the treble this season, with Roberts sharing his thoughts.
“As a Rangers man, it has been hard seeing Celtic play such great football this season and last,” said Roberts. “All I do know is with Ange you are getting someone who loves to play football the right way has a huge personality and everyone seems to love him as a man.
“If it is Ange you should all expect hugely entertaining football and he is also very good tactically. We have been down the big-name route the last few years and the football has been horrible on the eye. We need Ange of whoever it is to come in and give us the love back for the club – I think you will be surprised about him (about Ange not lasting until Jan 1).”
Whilst some Spurs fans will question this appointment, the fact that Rangers fans will be delighted that Postecoglou will be going tells you everything you need to know.
When he walked into Celtic, they had issues all over the shop after Steven Gerrard guided their rivals to the Premiership title, but he sorted out the mess at Parkhead, both on the inside and the outside.
That’s what Tottenham need and it’s something they can look forward to.

Well, with the soon-to-be appointment of Ange, then they have a manager who is the most attack-minded since Mauricio Pochettino – Chris Sutton lauded the Australian’s style of play.
From that perspective, that’s something to look forward to for Spurs fans, not forgetting that he will have the luxury of no Europe.
