‘Really excited’: Raheem Sterling says there’s a ‘massive’ player at Chelsea who he can’t wait to play with

Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has spoken of his excitement at finally getting to play alongside Christopher Nkunku this season.

Nkunku has had a hugely frustrating time of things since signing for Chelsea. He has had a number of injury issues and is only just getting back to fitness. Indeed, the Frenchman netted a consolation at Liverpool this week to show his quality.

Of course, Mauricio Pochettino will also be delighted to see Nkunku back. It gives the Chelsea boss a chance to play some of his top attacking players together.

And speaking to Sky Sports about his new teammate, Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has admitted he was really looking forward to playing with Nkunku after seeing him in pre-season.

Raheem Sterling eager to play with Christopher Nkunku
Speaking to Sky about Nkunku’s return to fitness, Sterling admitted it would be a huge boost for the Blues.

“It will be massive. I was really excited in pre-season with the type of player he is and I clicked really well with him. But again, you know, unfortunate with his injury. But he’s come back and he’ll be a massive boost for us and he’s a player that’s got experience as well,” Sterling said.

Nkunku to help late Chelsea charge
There was an obvious excitement around Nkunku signing for Chelsea and it’s a massive shame he’s been injured so much.

However, if he can get back to full fitness and get the minutes in then he can help Chelsea have a fine end to the season.

Sure, the top European spots are out of the question for Chelsea really but they are only five points off sixth and there’s no reason they can’t put a run together to get there.

Nkunku will be crucial to them if they are to put that run together. Indeed, a good finish to the season will set the Blues up nicely for next season.
