According to the print edition of La Vanguardia (18/05/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur have approached Barcelona sporting director Jordi Cruyff over potentially replacing Fabio Paratici.
Tottenham are thought to have stepped up their search for a new head coach over recent days, with Fabrizio Romano revealing this week that the club are expected to narrow in on their top candidate over the coming days.
It was reported by Alasdair Gold via Football.London on Tuesday that Roma‘s Tiago Pinto and ex-Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten are among the candidates at this stage.
In addition, some sources continue to suggest that Brentford sporting director Lee Dykes remains in contention for the role (Daily Mail).
Bayern Munich technical director Marco Neppe (Georg Holzner) and former Bayer Leverkusen sports coordinator Tim Steidten (Telegraph) have also been linked with the job.
It has now emerged from Spain that Cruyff is also part of Spurs’ shortlist to replace Fabio Paratici.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the Dutchman would be leaving Camp Nou at the end of June (Goal) and La Vanguardia has now suggested that he might be on his way to Tottenham.
The publication reveals that the 49-year-old has not ruled out the prospect of jumping straight into a new job this summer and that his decisions will depend on the kind of projects that come his way.

Tottenham certainly cannot afford to wait until Cruyff’s contract at Barcelona runs out at the end of June, with the Lilywhites needing to confirm a sporting director over the coming days in order to then accelerate their search for a new head coach.
So, the Dutchman is unlikely to be considered by the North London club.
