Tottenham Hotspur are now chasing a strong discount on the agreed price tag for Juventus loanee Dejan Kulsuevski.

Tottenham are interested in keeping Dejan Kulusevski but are now asking Juventus for a huge price decrease.

That is according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Tottenham are thinking about signing Kulusevski permanently.

However, Tottenham are now trying to renegotiate the price for Kulusevski’s permanent transfer.

Tottenham took Kulusevski on an 18-month loan deal back in January 2022 as Fabio Paratici raided former club Juventus.

Fabrizio Romano claimed last summer that Tottenham had an obligation to pay £31million for Kulusevski.

That was dependent on Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League though – something which didn’t happen.

Tottenham didn’t even qualify for Europe at all, leaving them to rethink their summer transfer plans.

The £31million fee became an option rather than an obligation if Spurs missed out on the top four, but even that may now be too much.

Kulusevski is now one player whose future is up in the air as Tottenham attempt to grind down the price tag and renegotiate.

Tottenham Hotspur risk losing Dejan Kulusevski to Newcastle United
Kulusevski made an enormous impact after arriving in 2022, racking up five goals and eight assists in his first 18 Premier League games.

The Swede suffered a dip in form this season but few at Tottenham managed to avoid that fate.

Kulusevski still has so much creativity, guile and composure on the ball as well as having bags of potential.

If Tottenham don’t manage to sign Kulusevski permanently, we think they might just live to regret it – especially if he joins a Premier League rival.

Football Transfers reported on Friday that Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is keen to lure Kulusevski to Tyneside.

Newcastle appear to be in the market for a left-footed winger and Kulusevski is a player on the radar.

Tottenham need to sort this out sooner or later, and hopefully the appointment of Ange Postecoglou can help clear up Kulusevski’s future quickly.
