Report: Tottenham receive potential boost to hopes of keeping Harry Kane

According to Football Transfers, Manchester United have now turned their attention to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as they fear that Harry Kane will prove too expensive.

The report reveals that Erik Ten Hag is prioritising signing a top-class number nine during the summer transfer window and Harry Kane was the club’s top target alongside Napoli‘s Victor Osimhen.

However, the Red Devils hierarchy now allegedly fear that the Tottenham man (as well as the Nigerian) will cost well over well in excess of €100m (£86.9m) and are thus ready to abandon their pursuit of both players.

It is asserted that United are instead ready to chase Vlahovic, having expressed interest in the Serbian during the January transfer window as well.

In fact, the publication asserts that Ten Hag’s men are already preparing an offer in the region of €70m (£60.8m) for the Juve star.

This report comes just a couple of days after Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport that Spurs remain determined to hold on to Kane and have no intention of selling him to a domestic rival.

I have no doubt that Levy would demand over £100m for Kane even if the striker decides against signing a new contract.

It seems like the Spurs chairman might even be prepared to allow the 29-year-old to run into the final year of his contract in the hope that he would change his mind regarding a new deal if Tottenham perform well next season.
