We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Aston Villa are a better team than Tottenham and the Villans can beat them “regardless of form”, according to Ty Bracey.
The Villans, after a big 4-1 win against European chasers West Ham on Sunday (25 October), have a favourable run of fixtures with Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Fulham up next. Ange Postecoglou’s title-leading Tottenham await after the Villans welcome the Cottagers next month.
Villa have gone toe-to-toe with the Premier League’s top clubs with wins over Chelsea and Brighton, but losses to Newcastle and Liverpool mean the jury could still be out on just how good they are. Tottenham meanwhile remain unbeaten in the league, but a VAR-stained win over Liverpool and a very late comeback against Sheffield United may have papered over some vulnerability.
Bracey noted that the next few fixtures are crucial to keep Villa in the mix for European qualification, but the encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is “absolutely winnable”.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Spurs, I know they’re top of the league, but are they unbeatable? No. Have they got a manager who’s doing really well? Yes. But are they going to go through the season and else games? Of course, they are.
“Every single one of the next few fixtures is absolutely winnable, no doubt about it, even the Spurs game. We need to go into the all-guns blazing. We know we can beat Arsenal and we know we can give Manchester City a game.
“We should be going into all of them with the hope of points, regardless of form. Do I think they’re a better team than us? No, I don’t.”
