Andrei Nicolescu (49), Dinamo’s president, addressed the squad situation ahead of the away clash with U Cluj and confirmed a key return for the team.
U Cluj and Dinamo are set to meet on Saturday at 20:30 in the final round of the play-offs. Nicolescu also provided an update on George Pușcaș, who picked up an injury during Dinamo’s goalless draw against CFR Cluj.
Speaking about the team’s absences ahead of the match with Universitatea Cluj and the upcoming Conference League play-off fixture, Nicolescu explained that players dealing with injuries or suspension risks will be left out of the trip in order to avoid further issues.
He emphasized that Dinamo still has a deep squad and sees this as an opportunity for other players to step up and prove they deserve a place in the team.
Regarding Pușcaș, Nicolescu confirmed that the striker will not be rushed back, with the club focusing on having him fit for Friday’s Conference League play-off. He also noted that Karamoko has only a slim chance of returning, while Mazilu remains unavailable.
On a positive note, Mărginean is expected to travel with the squad and could feature for a few minutes to regain match fitness.
